Everyday life will begin to resemble one long game as companies, governments and other institutions attempt to influence the public via new types of competitions. “Gamification” will appeal to people’s competitive instincts, familiarity with gaming and the peer pressure that comes from social media. By applying aspects of online games to real-world objectives, people can be encouraged to save energy, improve their finances and enjoy healthier lifestyles. The data collected via the games can serve useful marketing purposes, if the game itself is not designed to sell products or services outright. Companies can also promote employee productivity or even screen job candidates via specially designed games.

Confcommercio estimates that italian GDP last year would have been higher by € 29 billion, 132 billion more in the decade 2001-2011, which would have been even higher imitating the performance of the UK.
Similar results are obtained by simulating a greater prersenza of young entrepreneurs, currently equal to 11, 4% of the total. If the proportion of under 35 ascended by 20% - estimated in the research department of Confcommercio - our GDP would have a benefit of 5.5 billion, equal to 0.34%.
Well so did the government to provide incentives for start-up, even if Confcommercio calls for a reshaping of the text in order to avoid to exclude firms in the service sector.
Of course, the study concludes, this is not enough, because "the greatest incentive for entrepreneurial society is the creation of a context, if not favorable, at least not hostile to the cultivation of innovative ideas to venture capital, to retain talent and the recognition of merit and profit socially sustainable."

If you were to list the factors with the biggest potential impact on the business world over the next few decades, you'd likely cite some common themes - evolving technology, the globalization of markets, and fiscal challenges in Western countries, perhaps. But here's one you might not have considered: women.
According to B&C research, nearly 1 billion women will enter the global economy for the first time in the coming decade alone. And they will dramatically reshape the world of business and economies, globally.

Retailing is like a good game of poker. It’s based on a number of bets backed by some really good bluffs. Let me elaborate a little. Any bricks and mortar store stakes its very existence upon the fragile tripod of convenience, the tactile experience and the ability to offer instant gratification to its customers. You can, usually, walk out with your purchase within minutes of walking in, handling the merchandise and paying for it.
All of this is an illusion. ‘Convenience’ is shorthand for tradition, as we are still conditioned to thinking that the norm for shopping is a real world shop.

The success of mobile payments would not have been possible without the massive growth in the number of smartphones and the falling cost of computing power, both of which are lowering the barriers to new entrants in parts of finance. Smartphones are vital to this, because by providing consumers with powerful computing devices and internet connections that are always on, they open the way to all sorts of other innovations.
